  • I want the wicked money!!

So much to blog about, so little time.......for now, there's bad news and good news.

Bad news:  I have really been into the politics of the nation for the past few months......which has been appalling!  (other than the knowledge of God's perfect providential ordering of all things and that he judges all things perfectly..)

Good news:  I have really been into a sermon series on Exodus by Steve Wilkins.  This morning, as I was driving to work, I heard him exposit the last few verses of Chapter 3, about God's telling Moses to leave Midian, and go back to Egypt, and lead the Israelites out to worship Him.  I have never really paid much attention to the last few verses of Chapter 3, which read, with God speaking to Moses "But I know that the king of Egypt will not permit you to go, except under compulsion; so I will stretch out My hand, and strike Egypt with My miracles......and I will grant My people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you leave Egypt, you will not leave empty-handed.  Every woman shall ask of her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house, articles of silver and gold, and clothing; and you will put them on your sons and daughters.  Thus, you shall plunder the Egyptians."    After decades of hard work under captivity, the ISRAELITES plundered the Egyptians!!

Wilkins made the comment that, in God's providence, the wealth of the wicked is always given to the righteous!!!  What an interesting and timely comment, with the upcoming election, especially when the results are very likely to affect the medical community (both patients and providers) in a "negative" way...at least from a human perspective.  It was also very interesting since I have not received ONE CENT from medicare for any work I have done since October 8!!!  This little Israelite wants the wicked Egypt's money for my hard work!!

  • 90-180

In case anyone cares, that is the number of days that is usually required for Medicare to approve an application before they will begin paying for any services.  It usually takes that long because of incomplete or inaccurate applications.  Well..........after many days of long hours completing the application, Holly mailed it to Medicare on 12/21.  They began work on it on 12/26.  We received the notice that we were approved on 1/26.......ONE MONTH,....as in 30 (not 90-180) days later!!!  PLUS, that included the Christmas and New Year's holidays! Soooo....the bottom line is...if there is anyone out there who needs a billing manager, Holly's your girl!!!  Way to go!!

  • Out of the Mouths of Babes

The churchcandylady was out of town this weekend, so I wasn't at church to give the kids their candy on Sunday.  It was a great, relaxing "celebrate Christmas early" weekend, staying in pjs, no make-up, watching an entire season of Lost; but that's a story for another time.  It was back to work today, then running around doing some last minute shopping before going to a lovely Christmas Eve service at our church, then celebrating with the Mitchell clan (delicious tenderloin, btw Dale).  I guess things were so crazy today that I forgot to get the kids' candy ready and in the car for the service.  After the service, about 10 little ones ran up looking for candy.  When I leaned down and told them that I had forgotten the candy, one piped up with, "You should have a kid!  If you had a kid to remind you, you would never forget the candy!"  Hmmmm...I should have "had a kid"!  Why didn't I think of that?

Can't wait to see Theo open his gifts tomorrow......one of them is a kitchen, with pots, pans, and food, so he can "cook" with his mom!  It will be so cute.

Thanks to my "obsessive compulsive" practice manager, who has just collected and deposited the first checks today, after a mere 44 days on the job!!

Thanks be to God for many things today.....friends, family, bread, and wine....but most of all for His saving grace and forgiveness of sins through Christ!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING, PEEPS!
